Chevrolet’s Corvette performance record spans 1956 to 2025 across 266 verified tests (264 production, 2 modified), tracing a steady reduction in acceleration times through successive V8 eras. Early C1 results centered on naturally aspirated 283ci power, from the 1956 Convertible at 7.5 seconds to 60 mph to the 1962 Convertible (Injected) at 6.1. The C2, still naturally aspirated but moving through 300–435 hp small- and big-block configurations, cut that further, with the 1967 Sting Ray 427 Coupe reaching 4.7 seconds.
C3 through C7 broadened the formula with higher-output V8s and, in some cases, turbocharged and supercharged configurations.
