About Ford Mustang

Ford Mustang is the iconic American sports car that created much of a buzz in the market after its official launch in the year 1964 as the new age pony car. In the years ahead of its debut in the market, this aggressive pony car went through several upgrades for advanced and more pronounced performance.

It went through one of the major remodeling sessions back in 2005. However, the true essence of the model was kept intact with few technical alterations and modifications like a three-link live axle accompanied with Panhard rod rear suspension that enhanced the rear-wheel drive experience.

The latest MacPherson strut front suspension was one of the major changes made. However in the next 5 years Mustang was retouched with a few styling and technical changes. However, in 2013, along with a front splitter and advanced grille, Ford Mustang was re-designed with a proactively engrossing look.

Performance

Ford Mustang 0-60The six speed manual transmission was highly acclaimed for the swift handling benefits over the six-speed automatic found in the GT and V6 models. The car’s new aggressive and angled front end now matches the car’s performance and has seen a lot of praise from car critics and enthusiasts alike.

The current model includes 3 engine configurations including Eco-boost Inline 4 turbo-charged, V6, and V8 engines. You might think a 4 cylinder engine in a Mustang is a crime, but not this one. It outputs 310 hp @ 5500 rpm and 320 ft-lbs. of torque @ 3000 rpm.

This allows the Eco-boost Mustang to sprint to 60 mph in only 5.2 seconds and get to quarter mile at just 13.9 seconds. Those numbers are very respectable, and easily beat most of the V6 versions of the car.

The Eco-boost Mustang is not just great at performance. It also gets very respectable mileage at 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. That pretty much easily beats its rivals and then some.

In spite of its old school suspension set up, the car has a steady record of being smooth and stable around the corners. Other latest characteristic features like those power packed Brembo brakes, a part of the additional GT Track package, enhances the performance of the swift pony manifold.

A list of improved and advanced interior features is quite long but it includes things such as: improved trunk space, supportive front seats, Ford’s voice activated in-built sync system, auto dual-zone climate control, Recaro sports seats, and much more.

V6 Model

  • Engine: 3.7L V6
  • Power: 300 hp @ 6500 rpm and 280 ft-lbs. of torque @ 4000 rpm
  • Fuel Efficiency: 17 city / 28 highway mpg

Eco-Boost 4 Cylinder

  • Engine: 2.3L Inline 4 turbo-charged
  • Power: 310 hp @ 5500 rpm and 320 ft-lbs. of torque @ 3000 rpm
  • Fuel Efficiency: 22 city / 31 highway mpg

V8 GT Model

  • Engine: 5.0L V8
  • Power: 435 hp @ 6500 rpm and 400 ft-lbs. of torque @ 4250 rpm
  • Fuel Efficiency: 15 city / 25 highway mpg

If you can afford the Eco-boost model, there really is no reason to even look at the V6 one. Not only is the Eco-boost model more powerful and quicker, but it is also much more fuel efficient and will save you money in the long run.

    I have owned the 15 GT and now own the 15 eco-boost, The GT got hit while parked in front of my home out on the curb like 3 or more dozen cars are parked. An elderly man hit my parked 15 GT in the rear and waded that car up like smashing a coke can. He had All-State insurance that paid off my 2 week old car and gave me back $24,779.00 out of the $25,000 I had for a down payment. I am happy with my eco-boost 15 mustang.

    I can’t understand why they recommend not looking at the V6 model, and get the Ecoboost when the specifications that they posted above clearly indicate that the V6 is quicker in both 0 to 60, and through the 1/4 Mile.

      I’d take the v-6 now after owning the eco-boost that I traded in for a 2016 GT. Couldn’t locate a v-6 in 2015 or another replacement for my totaled 15 GT so hence why I bought the eco-boost in the first place. After 900 miles went by my favorite salesman gave me a call said the 16 models had arrived. so I gathered up all the car eco-boost paper work went in and ordered a 2016 GT the way I wanted it to be. Black paint pony package 3.55 rear sets automatic transmission. $35,990 out the door. Added a SCT tune and Airaid cold air intake. she ran a all time best of 0-30 2.2 sec. 0-60 4.5 0-100 in 9.2 seconds 60ft. 1.8 seconds 330ft. in 5.1 seconds 1/8 mile 8.1 @ 93 mph, 1000ft @ 10.4 @ 107 mph & 1/4th mile in 12.467 @ 116 mph

    I now own a 2016 shadow black pony package Mustang GT 3.55 rear sets and automatic trans so I can finger my girl while driving to the park to fu-k bone stock she ran all time best of 4.7 to 60 and 12.8 quarter mile at 111 mph with two mods she now runs best 0-30 2.2 seconds shitty traction 0-60 4.4 seconds 60ft. in 1.8 sec’s & 330ft in 5.1 sec’s and 1/8th mile in 8.1 sec’s @ 94 mph and 1/4th mile time of 12.473 @ 117.9 mph I’ve out ran two Camaros with it so far a 2015 Z/28 from a rolling start and a 2016 Camaro SS with the new 8 speed automatic and Cad. chassis also from a rolling start. All season Pirelli 19″X 8.5″ wide all season tires do not stick to the asphalt at all. hence the 2.2 0-30 mph. If I could cut a 1.6 second 0-30 like the 11.5″ wide Z/28 summer tires then I could knock off 6 hundredths second off my ET. or Camaro SS 0-30 in 1.7 seconds knock off 0.5 seconds off my ET. My Automatic GT with 3.55 rear sets just pulled a way from the Camaro SS which has two engine performance levels his was the376.1 cubic inch 455 HP version but they also have a 414 HP version also the SS1 Ran the SS from 65 mph start and just walked a way from him even so he left on the second horn beep just after it sounded. The Z/28 was a hand full we both spun something terrible almost hit each other had to both get off the gas to regain our control. then my stallion hooked up she gradually pulled a head until he’d shift and for an instance he’d come back up on me and fad back till the next gear change by the time I was in fourth gear I happened to look at my tachometer and she was getting ready to hit the rev limiter @ 7250 rpms and I looked back he was right there about two lengths and a half fender when we both let off the gas. He followed me till I pulled in the Shell station for gas. Quote his first lost race since he’s owned his Z/28, you could see his discern in his face as he waved to me on his way out.

    With the ecoboost Mustangs, replacing the turbo at 100,000 miles must be considered. The 3.7L engine is a far better choice because of FAR BETTER reliability.
