I can’t ifnd any information about the Charge Depletion Mode that was used in the 2014 i3 REX testing of 0-60. What is it and where can I find out how to engage it?

      Hi Calvin,

The modes are automatically activated based on battery charge. The Charge-Depleting Mode is on when the battery has sufficient charge to power and propel the car. The Charge-Sustaining Mode is activated when the battery percentage drops below a certain point, and that’s when the range extender powerplant comes on and starts generating energy to sustain the battery charge so that it doesn’t go to 0% and turn off.
