GM pioneered electric powertrains and vehicle designs long before Toyota did. If the Prius “is universally acknowledged to be the best hybrid car in the world”, then why does the Volt outperform it in every category? The Volt is more powerful, faster, more advanced, more efficient, and more capable than the Prius. Just because this author was ignorant of the specifications and the Volt never sold like hotcakes doesn’t mean it isn’t superior.
