About Alfa Romeo

The name Romeo is usually associated with the tragedy written by the great William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet. To car owners, however, it means Alfa Romeo. It is the classic and notable Italian supercar that most guys want to have. The price tag of each Alfa Romeo would keep its possession to the most elite car owners and to a limited few due to the number of production per year.

A Classic Movie Car

Alfa Romeo cars have been regarded as a classic and elegant vehicle that it has been used in numerous films and blockbusters. The most recent appearance of the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde is in the 2013 hit Fast and the Furious 6, driven by the late Paul Walker. The most memorable appearance would be by the Spider, in the film The Graduate.

An Old Speed Racer

Since 1911, the Alfa Romeo has been involved in motor racing. It has even extended its reach to Formula One and in rally racing. The brand has more than 100 championships, old and new, as a testament to the performance and prestige of Alfa Romeo.

How to spot an Alfa Romeo racing car? Look at the side panels of the car. If it has a four-leaf clover in a triangle there, then it is a racing car. That is called the “quadrifoglio”. It is a symbol and a tradition of Alfa Romeo, and in memory of Ugo Sivocci. It’s there as a lucky charm for the driver. No wonder the Alfa Romeo sports cars have won so many racing events.

Speed and Safety

Each type of Alfa Romeo luxury car is built to be sports car. All can bring the Alfa Romeo from 0-100 km/h in at least 7 seconds. However, the 4C Spider has a 1750 cc turbocharged, 4 cylinder, 240 HP engine that can reach up to 6000 rpm. This is designed to drag the 4C from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.

This superb engine power might concern the average Alfa Romeo owner. Wouldn’t it be too costly on petrol and damaging to the environment? On the contrary, the light body design and engine build ensures a fuel efficient drive, low energy consumption, and an emission within the limits of Euro 6.

All this power would mean nothing without safety. The Giulietta is the perfect example of sheer Alfa Romeo ingenuity. The safety measures on the Giulietta have earned it the most prestigious 5 Star Euro NCAP rating. From its 6 airbags, 3 point seatbelts and anti-whiplash systems, to the energy-absorbing capacity of the front end, it greatly reduces the impact on the driver and passenger.
