About Ram Trucks

Formerly called Dodge Trucks, Ram Trucks are part of the Chrysler Group LLC. It is a brand of light to mid-weight pickup trucks designed for real truck customers, instead of casual truck owners. Its logo features the head of a ram which also happens to be the same logo used by Dodge.

History

Ram Trucks was spun off from Dodge in 2010. The name came from Chrysler’s best selling vehicle, a pick-up truck. The decision of Chrysler to establish a separate brand for mid to full-sized pick-up trucks was initially met with a lot of skepticism especially since the company was almost bankrupt during that time.
