Noble M400 0-60 Times

The Noble M400 is a sports car based on the Noble M12 chassis and it was built by the British car maker Noble. Manufacturing of the M400 was outsourced to the South African based company Hi-Tech Automotive. Although it doesn’t have the image of a Porsche GT3 RS or Ferrari 360 CS, the M400 offers as much track and road performance for significantly less money.

A Brief Glimpse at the History

Noble M400 0-60Lee Noble is a British car designer and engineer who founded Noble Automotive in Leicester in 1999 after working on low volume cars with astronomical price tags for Ultima, Prosport and Ascari. He wanted to keep the ethos of these niche cars but he also wanted to dramatically reduce manufacturing and retail prices and make pure drivers cars.

Lee Noble has a rare talent for setting up the chassis on his cars and the M12 left some room on the table for improvements, that is how the new and improved M400 came to life.

Noble M400 Specs

  • Braking System: Four-wheel power-assisted discs with ABS, and with front and rear ventilated discs, four piston calipers up front and rear
  • Curb Weight: 2320 lbs
  • Top Speed: 165mph
  • 0-60 time: 3.6 seconds
  • ¼ mile in 12.2 seconds

The Noble M400 has been designed for track use, and its race-tuned dampers and soft-compound tires allow cornering at far higher speeds. What’s more, when its road-holding limit is reached, the M400 has the same predictability as the lesser variants. Unlike the M12, the M400 is fitted with an anti-rollbar, so the body control is better than ever.

There is also a full safety roll-cage, which together with the race harnesses and three-point safety belts provides racecar like crash safety for the driver and passenger. There is also ABS and big brakes to help cope with its immense speed.

Comfort and Quality

When comparing the Noble M400 to other sports cars, you may hear that it’s as fast as a Porsche, but you’ll never hear that it’s built like one, but that’s one part of its character. Although there is a radio and good A/C the Noble M400 is still a road legal track car and that shows in its interior.
