About Bugatti Veyron
Ask any car fanatic and you will find that Bugatti Veyron is a prominent name on their dream car list. This car is distinguished by the name itself!
It has captured millions of hearts worldwide and is rightfully known as one of the fastest cars in the world. Volkswagen Group are behind the design and development of the car, which is manufactured in France, by the Bugatti Automobiles.
It all began in the year 1998. The trademark right of the former Bugatti Group was bought by the Volkswagen Group. In a bid to revive the Bugatti brand, they created the Bugatti EB118 and three other models as concept cars. This was presented in various international auto shows.
In 2001, it was decided that the Volkswagen Group would start producing the Bugatti Veyron cars. It was not until 2005 that the production of these cars could be done properly. And once these cars entered the market, history was made!
Blisteringly Fast Powerhouse
As stated before, this car is known for its amazing speed. This powerhouse has an 8 liter quad-turbo charged W16 engine. It is made up of aluminum and carbon fiber. The power is delivered to the wheels by an all-wheel drive system through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
This giant engine is quite thirsty as well. You can expect to get about 7 mpg on city roads and about 15 mpg on the highways.
The Bugatti Veyron can reach a top speed of more than 250 mph. The latest Grand Sport Vitesse Convertible model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 2.4 seconds and hit quarter mile mark in only 10 seconds.
The performance is even more incredible when you find out that the car weighs over 4,000 lbs. That is heavy for a supercar of this nature, however, that W16 engine produces over 1,000 horsepower. That’s enough power to pull many heavy things or to simply pull one of the best supercars ever created.
The Extreme Car
The Veyron is regarded as the most extreme car ever produced for the roads. The daily speed of this car hovers around 213 mph – which is as extreme as it can get!
When the car reaches 140 mph, the hydraulics lower the car so that it is closer to the ground. At the same time, the wing and spoiler deploy which allow the car to stay on the ground rather than take off in the air.
You may be wondering how efficient the brakes will be at such speeds. The Bugatti Veyron can go from the 250 mph top speed to a complete standstill within a matter of 10 seconds, while covering one third of a mile in the process. The car’s rear wing also acts as an additional brake when the car is traveling at extremely high speeds.
The Most Desired Car in the World
There can be no doubts about the desirability of this car. Priced at around $2.2 million, the newest versions of the Bugatti Veyron are the most powerful and fastest street legal cars that you can find.
